Blogger who you super duper admire + book that reminds of you them
May @ Forever and Everly is my personal blogging icon and queen. Her book blog was the first one I EVER read, seriously. And it was recap post, but I just fell in complete love with book blogging reading ALL her posts? She’s funny, and genuine, and kind, and writes amazing discussion posts.
Funny story, I first read May’s blog in July, and she went on hiatus the next month. I was low-key very sad. But I waittteeeedddddd, and was so happy when she came back from break. I mean, that was a year or so ago, BUT I remember refreshing her blog and reading ALL her old posts while I waited. May is just that good and every post she has ever written is golden.
Now, for a book that reminds me of May. There are SO MANY.
All THREE of these books remind me of May. First, because May is Thai-American, and Girls of Paper and Fire is an own voices, diverse story that May talked about A LOT! And it’s Southeast Asian rep.
And recently, May has been ravaging about Darius the Great is Not Okay, and all her tweets make me want to read this book right now.
And finally, Six of Crows, because May might have been the first blogger to talk about this book? Which really encouraged me to read it!
Blogger who encourages you to keep blogging + book that reminds of you them
Isn’t Cait @ Paper Fury the Most Encouraging Blogger, ever? Cait is the magical blogger who somehow manages to read literally everything, keep a beautiful blog, and write and publish a book! Also, Cait comments on other blogs all the time! She is so sweet! And totally amazing!
So, HOW COULD I NOT put Cait’s amazing debut here. I mean, she wrote this book! And it’s really incredible! Super emotional, and touching, and really easy reading? Everything you want in a debut? And a fellow book blogger wrote this treasures???? How cool is that?!!!
Blogger who always makes you laugh + book that reminds you of them
Emma @ Emma Reads Too Much is the funniest blogger, ever. And her rant reviews make me laugh SO MUCH. She’s witty, and sarcastic, and completely honest. Now, I like her book reviews for books she enjoys. But there’s nothing better than Emma’s rant reviews. You are a dead soul if you do not laugh.
Emma’s rant review for this series is GOLDEN. It’s funny, and hits all the negative aspects about these books in the most honest, angry way. I love it. I love reading her rants just because they are so funny! Is it bad that the books Emma hates are what reminds me of her blog?
Malanie @ Malanie Loves Fiction
Blogger who constantly recommends the BEST reads + book that reminds of you them
Fadwa @ Word Wonders is a wizard who recommends and reviews SO MANY BOOKS. I’m amazed. And her recommendations are so incredibly good? Fadwa has lovely diverse rec lists, and she constantly brings up more diverse books.
And her twitter is incredibly full of diverse books recs! I’m in awe of how many books she knows about.
Mirage reminds me of Fadwa, because it’s a Moroccan inspired sci-fi fantasy! I can’t wait to read this book, to only because I’ve heard amazing things, but because it’s #ownvoices and it sounds so meaningful and beautiful! If you haven’t read Fadwa’s review, you really should!
Another blogger who has the most amazing list of recs is Elise @ The Bookish Actress. Not only does she review an insane amount fo books, but Elise also compiles a monthly lists of reads and bookish news? How do people keep up with all these details? Somehow Elise does, and I’m just completely in awe.
Now, this series reminds me of Elise. because she is one of the many, many bloggers who recommended it! And not only did she encourage me to read it, but her reviews parallel my own thoughts. They’re not just raving about how awesome these books are. But describe some of my, I don’t like this part moments, even though I like most of the actual story. Especially Adam Parrish.
Your doppelganger blogger (similar style, reading taste, bascially your blogging twin) + book that reminds of you them
The first blogger that pops into my mind the I think of my possible blogging twin, is Olivia @ Purely Olivia.
Her aesthetics remind me of me. Which is a funny thing to say, but they just do. And Olivia talks about Harry Potter a ton and likes to read contemporary in the summer, too. And I feel like we’re just super kindred spirits???
One of Olivia’s favorite books is Simon Vs, so now it ALWAYS reminds me of her. Along with Harry Potter. Happy contemporary feels just fits right with Olivia. (And I think my blog some, too?) Though Harry Potter doesn’t fit with HAPPY contemporary, it fits with Olivia, too. And maybe the first Harry Potter could be describe as magical contemporary, which is pretty happy.
So now, time to tag some GREAT bloggers who fit a ton of these categories, too! I’m tagging some of my other fantastic blogging buddies.
It’s the veerrrryyyy end of the first day of classes, so let’s see if I can get to bed before midnight. And this post is technically only an actual day late? So, cool, I guess, right?
Now for some actual stuff to talk about….
Who are your favorite blogging buddies? Are you good about actually doing tags when you’ve been tagged? (because I’m definitely not)
Have you ever created your own tag? How do people do senior year of college? Can I survive the next 245 days? How is August already almost over?
