It’s finally thanksgiving and I keep seeing thankful posts of the internet. Hmm, sensing a theme 😂
I’ve been super busy, so I haven’t had time to blog much, but I definitely wanted to acknowledge some GREAT things in my life. Because being consciously thankful is healthy! It just it, just believe me and don’t bother me about finding the actual science to back up my 10000% true claims. Someone smart person told me gratitude is HEALTHY and I’m not taking my claim back.
Anyway, I am thankful for A LOT of things, and I didn’t want to just list books because there are so many amazing things in my life. I can’t possible list ALL of them, so here is a small list of the top things I’m thankful for right now!
I’ve met so many lovely people on the Internet! Book twitter, book blogging, bookstagram – even when I am almost too busy to interact, the community is so great!
Getting to participate in buddy reads and commenting on other people’s blog posts, and just chatting about books online is so sweet. Thanks to all my bookish friends who have made 2018 so great! I can’t wait for us to keep reading and writing and have published books someday, hehe!
My Roommate and her Very Cute Puppy
If you’re going on break and you need a real, total complete break from all things college and stress, hang out with a puppy. It’s the GREATEST!
But for real, all puppies make me happy. And my roommate has been the sweetest part of senior year, so double thankfulness.
The End of the Semester/College Almost Over!!!
How many times can I talk about this being my senior year??? Seriously, it’s an amazing feeling to know that I’m almost DONE with college. University is hard and constant work and being poor and just exhausting and constantly competitive.
And I’m just grateful for this time in my life and that is it coming to a close, just one more semester!!!!
Finishing a Book and Working on Another WIP
I can’t believe I actually finished writing a book this year? Crazy, right??? Sometimes I forget that I’m working on my second book this year – and it’s easy to forget. Writing is stressful and sometimes it can all be about the NEXT project and hard to focus on what you HAVE already accomplished.
I think today is a good day to pause and acknowledge that, yes I do want to write more! But I am proud and thankful for what I have written. I’m grateful for friends who’ve supported my writing and helped me brainstorm and fangirled over characters.
And I’m thankful for times when I’m not writing and my brain can take a break and get ready to write! I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I think breaks from writing are SO important, and you’re still a writer when you’re not writing. 🙂
I basically took a year long break from bookstagram. I tried several times to restart my account, deleted my original account, and thought about starting a new account. Well, I finally started doing bookstagram again, and it’s been REALLY great!
I so enjoy seeing everyone’s books and insta stories, and just talking about books! And right now, working on taking pictures is super fun and not being stressful, yay!
I am always completely grateful for creativity. For the ability to imagine new worlds and spin together words and see the world as a constant kaleidoscope.
Even when I’m weary and tired, I love that giddy feeling of imagining something new – a different book idea, a funny bookstagram caption, a quick art sketch.
I love the space to be creative and the freedom of just being a creator.
Now, I know this post is almost late, and it’s definitely way past the the turkey parades and all the thanksgiving festivities. But I really do have a legitimate excuse – I spent the whole a in the country without internet and I was traveling to the country, so writing posts and all that is HARD.
Also, I was reading Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer and forcing myself to blog instead of reading is almost IMPOSSIBLE.
But, this is officially posted before thanksgiving day is done! So, SUCCESS!
What current happenings, things, life gifts, etc. are you thankful for right now? do you celebrate thanksgiving? Any favorite foods? Or weird family traditions? Are you in full Christmas mood now??? Cause I definitely am.
