I feel SO OFFICIAL today because I’m here announcing a readathon!!! Yay! But apparently, I’m not too official because I just realized two days ago that I should write a post announcing this. Go me, yay, always barely hitting the deadlines.
So there’s a couple cool things about February. First, it’s my birthday month. And Abraham Lincolns birthday month. And sometimes there’s an extra day. Also, there’s lots of cheap chocolate on February 15th.
And this February is SUPER special because I’m helping host the COOLEST readathon! *crowd cheers* this is the First time, I’ve helped host a readathon? Also, it’s a lot more work than I realized, so moral of the story, be careful how much you commit to. (No joke, guys. it’s fun but don’t overcommit. Because then you’re late answering important emails and internally scolding yourself all night)
Anyway, back to the COOLEST Readathon – Fierce Females February!!!
This readathon is ALL about reading stories written by and about fierce females. There’s a ton of bloggers creating some amazing content, a twitter page, an instagram challenge, and lots of giveaways!!!
Ashley from Falling Down the Bookhole started the ENTIRE thing, so be sure to check out her original post. her post links to all the bloggers participating as well as includes anything I’ve forgotten to say. Opps.
Now, let’s talk about the challenges and my TBR!
The group read – I actually have never even heard of Moxie? So, I’m excited to pick it up! Do I have any idea what it’s about? Nope! But I’m sure it’ll be good!
Girl/Female/Woman in the title
I actually don’t have a book on my TBR with Girl/Female/Woman in the title? That’s weird! But I do have books with female character’s names in the title. So, that’s what I’m going to use for this prompt.
I’ve been meaning to read these two books for FOREVER! And they also work for my Year of the Asian reading challenge, so I definitely want to read them in February!
Written by a WOC
Both of these books are SO BEAUTIFUL???!!! I can’t wait for Angie Thomas’s new book about a teenage rapper. It sounds so good! Every preview I’ve read immediately sucked me in and I can’t wait for this books release!
I’ve heard lots of mixed reviews about The Belles, and I’m going to finally pick this book up! Also, it looks like a perfect February read. It just screams valentines day at me, haha.
Fierce Female Rec
I’ve been currently reading this book since November and I’m going to finish it in February! Sadie is fierce and so many people recommended this book to me!
Also, I’ve been listening to it and I actually asked for it from the library. I need to hold this book and read it.
Fierce Female in History
Now, you might know that i read this book last spring. It’s really good! And it’s about a fierce woman from history. (sshh, don’t talk to me about mythology not being history)
Anyway, I’m reading this book in February because it’s also the challenge book for the Booktube Games Camp Halfblood team. Yes, I joined my Greek fam for this other February readathon. Daughter of Athena 1000000%%%%
Leading a Resistance
I’ve been currently reading A Reaper at the Gates since JULY. I JUST NEED TO FINISH IT. It’s just a hard book to keep reading because life is not getting any easier for these precious characters.
But Laia is definitely leading a resistance so it counts for this prompt and I’m going to finish this book!
I also started the Shatter Me series in January, and I’ll continue this series with Unravel Me in February!
Well, I’m so excited to be reading all these books! I mentioned that I’m also participating in The Booktube Games. Am I going to make a booktube video about this TBR? Maybe…maybe not. Who knows.
Also, these are definitely not all the books I’m hoping to read in February! That post will come out after my January wrap up, which ya girl needs to start writing. Like right now. I need to finish this post then go work on my monthly wrap up.
And in more EXCITING post news, I’m writing a special post for the Fierce Females Readathon. It’s coming out in early February, so keep a look out!
Can you participate in the Fierce Female Readathon? What are some of your favorite fierce female reads and authors? Any books you’d recommend for my TBR?
