Happy one year anniversary to my semi-fantastic collection of book blogging thoughts! But I absolutely forbid ANY of you to read my posts from last August. *massively cringes*
Alright, back to the main point – I’ve been book blogging for an ENTIRE YEAR! Wow! It’s been an incredibly fun year with lots of reading, blog hopping and book writing.
Also, what crazy part of my brain decided to start a blog in the middle of the summer? I don’t even think I posted too much because summer is always incredibly busy. And now I have to figure out a blogiversary post in the middle of July?
Anyway, the best part of celebrating a blogiversary is remembering all the wonderful thing I love about blogging! So, I’m going to start with a small list, because there a ton of GREAT things to LOVE about book blogging.
I love the blogging community! It’s been so fun to engage with other readers and see the topics of discussion and different thoughts that other bloggers have. Bloggers can be super funny, serious, personal, and incredibly supportive.
When I’m feeling like NOT blogging (which does happen, btw) I try to read some blog posts by some of my favorite bloggers. Basically, any problem you might have as a blogger, other bloggers have experienced. So, not only do you know you’re not alone, but other bloggers have worked through the SAME problems. And reading how they worked through blogging burnout, or discouraging stats, or just off days, is wonderful.
This is one of the best things about book blogging! Book bloggers read, obviously, and talk about their reading. Reading chatter encourages me to READ more! We all need encouragement to read more, right? (Except for Cait, because somehow she reads so much and keeps up with everything else? Tell me your secrets … Cait)
And even when I don’t feel like reading, I love reading book reviews and reading lists. And I can still write about books, I love even if I haven’t had time to read new books much lately.
Ok, so I often post my blog posts at the beginning of the day, and getting notifications about comments and likes is so GREAT! Even if I can’t read them until I’m on lunch break, it’s definitely something to look forward to.
It’s also really, really cool when a blogger you super duper admire comments on your blog posts. Or even follows you.
I also love all the engaging things I can do with other bloggers! Like buddy book reads or guest posting or even just commenting on a friends post.
Fun Reading Things
There’s so many fun reading things on the internet! I love reading book memes and book tags! And discovering new favorite authors and new favorite characters and new favorite books!
Before book blogging, I would occasionally find a friend to fangirl with. Especially, about the Scarlet Pimpernel. But now, there are so many amazing readers who love to Fangirl! And we can all chat and scream together online, yay!
I think (?) I’m going to write another blog post, just to share some tips and lessons I’ve learned on blogging. Things like how to grow your blog, how many other bloggers you should follow, and how to even come up with great content.
So, send me any questions you have, and, hopefully, I’ll be able to give you some great answers! Also, please check out this survey! And answer all my questions. Thanks so much!
How long have you been blogging? Do you keep track of your blogging anniversaries and write anniversary posts? What are your tips for keeping up with a blog for a full year?
Did you fill out of the survey? Will you fill it out? *hint hint*
