It’s the end of April! Yay? I suppose I’m happy that a month happened, but I’m actually happier that the semester is practically done.
Ok, this month was so packed with schoolwork, school, school. Lots of school. but school is almost done. And if you don’t come away with anything else form reading this post, just know that I am almost, very close to done with this semester.
It is hard to read and write, and just breathe when you have million assignments due every day at midnight. But I did manage to get some stuff done.
I actually read More Happy than Not with Malanie as a buddy read, and my heart is still broken. Also, where have buddy reads been my whole life? this was so fun and I really look forward to doing another one!
And I’m rather very sad to be all done with the Heroes of Olympus series. I pretty much delayed reading the Blood of Olympus ALL MONTH. And finally forced myself to finish. I really wanted to read it, but I did not want to finish the series.
I’m not going to put a writing section in this month, because surprise! I wrote practically nothing this month. At first, I was super frustrated about that. It was Camp Nano, I felt like I should be writing. BUT it’s also the last 4 weeks of school, and it was insane. So many projects, and tests, more tests, quizzes, and papers. I had to focus on school.
So time for a choice – blog or write? And I chose blogging. I hope you guys approve.
I did manage to edit some on HOCAT, and I’m going to continue editing throughout May.
I did watch Troy: Fall of a City. And my heart was crushed. I know the Iliad, so I knew what was going to happen. But I fell so hard for Hector, he was just adorable and so good.
I also really fell in love with Aeneas and he has a happier ending. So yay?
And, I’ve started watching Scandal. Which is making my political nerd heart happy. Kerry Washington is AMAZING.
Oh, Oh, Oh, I went strawberry picking! It was so fun and I ate a TON of strawberries! I loved it! And I am definitely planning on picking more berries in May and the rest of the summer.
April is so happy because it’s blogger awards month! I loved discovering so many new blogs & seeing all the nominations.
Malanie chats about the Song of Achilles and it’s just beautiful. Also, I think we read this book at the same time? And her review is pretty much all my emotions.
May shares 4 things that stress her out as a blogger and I can relate soooooo much. And in lovely May style, May chats about how not to be stressed. Listen to May, people. let’s try not to be stressed, ok?
Do you like ranting about Sarah J Maas? Then Emma’s review is your cup of tea. Of rage. Ok, this review is hilarious. So read it.
Sydney and I are both reading the Lunar Chronicles and I LOVE her reviews. SHe’s totally inspiring me to write my own, haha! Anyway, her How I Became a Lunartic review is ON POINT.
If you’re on bookstagram and interested in book rep searches, Marrill gives some great tips. Do you enter rep searches?
Speaking of bookstagram, social media is a pretty big deal. Savannah talks about using social media, specifically for your book blog.
I almost kept up with my blogging schedule in April. but then, finals started happening. and I’ve been pretty sick that last week. So, small break.

I had so much fun writing all three of these posts! I think it’s super fantastic to write about all my favorite bloggers. And chatting about different reviewing styles was really interesting. And of course, I LOVED planning out my summer reading. Because summer is almost here!
now, for some official numbers. And if numbers are terribly depressing to you, please feel free to skip all this.
- Views – 801 views (first month over 800, what???)
- Likes – 155
- Followers – 21 new followers! Wow, you guys are so nice 🙂 🙂 🙂
- Comments — I switched back to WP commenting system, and lost A LOT of comments.
I’ve already written an entire post about my summer reads. But let’s still try to break down what I’m hoping to read in May.
They Both Die at the End – I’ve actually started this book, and hope to finish it this week!
Leah on the Offbeat – My copy of this book should be showing up ANY day and I can’t wait to read it!
Circe – After Song of Achilles, I will read anything by Madeline Miller
Winter – I am so excited to read this last book. But it’s 800 pages??? Where is my life?
The Raven Boys – Ok, I am going to start this series this month.
Beautiful April strawberries that I picked. #happyheart
School gets out Friday, and I am going to see Infinity War! That’s my #1 plan! YAAAAYYYYAYAY!
I also start my new job at the YMCA for the summer. And I am super happy! I love working with kids & I’m just super excited.
I’m also making a plan of 10 NEW things I’d like to do this summer. Visiting a national park, highlighting my hair (MAYBE?) and attending a music concert. Should I write a post about my list?
Also, this is the shortest wrap-up post ever? That’s cool, I guess.
Have you gone strawberry picking? Have you seen Infinity War yet? Are you almost done with this semester?
What were your favorite reads this month? Have you done very many buddy reads? What are you planning on reading in May?
Do you have any ideas for my list of 10 crazy new things to do this summer?
