It’s July, where we celebrate all the watermelons, falling behind on our Goodreads challenges, and Christmas in July! And along with all those fun events, it’s time for the Third Annual Book Bloggers Awards!!!
May from Forever and Everly is hosting the awards this year, someone should shower May with mangoes because of all her hard work. And for reminding me to write this post. I mean, every time I just tried to scroll twitter, May popped in with a very casual tweet, only 29 more days! Only 21 days! Only 14 more days! And now only 10 more days!!!
Okay, Okay! I’ll get off twitter and write this post. Because all the bloggers really do deserve some awards and recognition!
And just to clarify, I can’t pick everyone for these awards, but I really do appreciate all of the amazing bloggers I know. I kind of wish I could nominate everyone for these awards.
Best of their Age
Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)
Vicky from Vicky Who Reads is an incredible blogger, hold on I’m going to say that about everyone in this entire post, but as I was saying, ahem. Vicky is INCREDIBLE.
Vicky’s blog posts are always so creatively done and she creates the most wonderful graphics + writes the best reviews. All around, Vicky has an awesome blogging voice and brings attention to so many lovely new books.
Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)
Ahhh, Melanie from Mel to the Any is simply the sweetest and best adult book blogger!
I always love reading Melanie’s blog and her funny posts. And Melanie creates such amazing content for instagram and youtube while promoting so many authors and other reads. And besides all those awesome things, Melanie also hosts monthly readathons and book clubs! The book community would simply not be the same without Melanie.
Not only is Jes’ twitter one of my favs and her youtube is constantly on point, but Jes also posts all her reviews on her blog, Jes Reads Books.
And Jes writes so many reviews!!! I’m constantly amazed by all the books she reads and her very thoughtful reviews.
Now, there are a bunch more book reviews categories, but I don’t know how to work through these nominations??? Because apparently I don’t know which blogs cover which books, opps. SO, this year, I’m not doing the different book reviews categories, but I’m going to try to pay more attention to those categories for NEXT year.
Best of Book Blogging
Best Book Reviews
Okay, if you don’t laugh when you read Emma’s reviews from Emma Books, there’s something wrong with you. Emma’s reviews are HILARIOUS and so SARCASTIC. everything I’m nervous about saying about a book, Emma just says in the funniest way.
Also, Emma loves Anne of Green Gables, so we’re automatically kindred spirits.
Best Book Recommendations
Ok, I could nominate May from Forever and Everly for literally every category, but I’ll stick to Best Book Recs. Because I always love reading May’s rec posts! She has such amazing lists, especially diverse books. And her bookstagram is adorable and always reminds me of books i need to read.
Best Discussion Posts
I completely admire Elise from The Bookish Actress and her discussion posts! Whether Elise is talking about Game of Thrones, ranking Taylor Swift’s songs, or explaining how she got banned from Twitter for a week too long, Elise’s posts are always on point.
Best Blog Aesthetic
Um, so many people could win this award, but I’m definitely nominating one of my all time favs, It’s Lu Again. Lu is hilarious and her blog always has such FUN content. And then all her graphics??? Always so pretty AND happy!
Best Blogging/Writing Voice
okay, one of my all time favorites, is Tiffany from Read by Tiffany. Tiffany is always adorable and I love her posts! They can simple or complex but her voice is always engaging and funny, and I just enjoying reading Tiffany’s blog.
Also, Tiffany recently went self-hosted and her new blog look is just so pretty???
Oh, I LOVE these categories! Friendliest, Most Engaged, and Best at Promoting Diverse books??? I LOVE THESE BLOGGERS and I’m so happy to nominate them all!!!!
Most Engaged in the Community
Marie from Drizzle and Hurricane Books is one the sweetest people on the whole world web! I always love chatting with Marie, whether it’s talking with her about books on her blog, or chatting about blogging, Marie is so nice! She’s always commenting on all the blogs and boosting other people on twitter, and is just so engaged! Marie also follows SO MANY blogs, it’s hard for me to imagine the time she puts into the community.
Who has the most beautiful instagram, the wittiest twitter, and the best book recommendations? Cait from Paper Fury! Cait is the best blogger and constantly chats about SO MANY BOOKS! I’d read any book she recommends, and besides her awesome recommendations, Cait also writes books! I mean, if that’s not the definition of best influencer – blogger, social media queen and author???
Um, OLIVIA from Purely Olivia is the ABSOLUTE friendliest soul in the entire world. I always love her blog posts and my heart smiles whenever I read her comments! Olivia is so sweet and kind and blogging just wouldn’t be the same without her!
Fadwa from Word Wonders promotes SO MANY DIVERSE BOOKS! I love reading her recommendations and now, Fadwa has a youtube channel as well! If you’re ever looking for a diverse book, whether that’s a book with Muslim rep, Aro-Ace rep, disability rep, any rep, Fadwa can help you out!
And besides all the book recs, Fadwa writes loves reviews and her bookstagram is so pretty and aesthetic, too! Fadwa also hosts lots of discussion posts and other diverse voices on her blog, so be sure to follow her.
Personally, I think some of the best posts on diversity and inclusion in books can be found on Word Wonder’s corner of the internet.
Okay, I kind of hate these categories because how am I supposed to choose the best blogger???? What kind of evil decision making is this???
Also, apparently I don’t know who started their blog after August 2018. opps.
Best Small Book Blogger
Brianna from Brianna the Bookworm is one of my favorite bloggers in the entire world! Brianna is always the most supportive and kind! And I just love chatting books with her and reading all her posts! I’m so happy to nominate her for BEST small book blogger!
Brianna is on hiatus right now, so i can’t link her blog, but when she comes back from break, you can bet I’ll be posting ALL the links, haha.
Best Overall Book Blogger
I’m going to nominate one of my all time favorite bloggers, Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams! Not only is Lily so kind, and her posts are incredible, but Lily is one of the best book bloggers I know!
This year Lily is hosting the Year of the Asian Challenge alongside some other incredible bloggers. And Lily is an example of taking breaks when you need to and also coming back with awesome content and just always supporting your fellow book bloggers!
Wow, this took a month of days to write! And I actually went through all the blogs I follow and checked out a lot of blogs I haven’t been reading lately. Good for the soul, eh?
Anyway, I’m so happy May started the awards this year, and I can’t wait to see all the nominations!!! I love checking out everyone’s favorite bloggers and just supporting the entire community!
